It's All About Hearts - LOVE

HEARTS OF LOVE: The month of February is heart month. It is the month in which we celebrate Valentine's Day. Practically every valentine card will be shaped like a heart or a card that has hearts on it. The heart shape has come to be a symbol for the word, "love." Sometimes you will see a bumper sticker on a truck that will read:

which means, "I love my truck." Sometimes you will see the same style sticker with the last word being something besides truck. Regardless of what the object may be, the message is the same, LOVE.

The touch of love is what makes a difference in life. The touch of God's love, I'm sure, has made a difference in your life. Because it has, your touch of love can make a difference in the life of someone else. He has put his love in your heart through faith in Christ Jesus, and by sharing it with someone else, it is sure to change their life also. He expects us to make a difference in the lives of others.

The story is told of a business man who was staying in a hotel near the beach, and after a storm had come through he took a stroll along the beach. As he was walking along, he saw the beach was covered with starfish that had been brought in by the enormous waves. Of course once the morning sun burned through the clouds, the starfish would dry out and die. As he continued his walk, he saw a child who also noticed the plight of the starfish, and was picking them up one by one, and flinging them back into the ocean. "Why are you doing that," he asked the child, "Can't you see that you will never make a difference - there are just so many." "That's true," replied the child, flinging another one into the ocean, "But I sure made a difference in that one."

There will always be more people to reach than time or energy or commitment can provide, but each one of us can touch a few. The apostle Paul said, "...I ask that you do not lose heart...I would that God grant you, according to the riches of His glory to be strengthened through the Holy Spirit in the inner person." (Eph 3:13 &16)

"I am only one, but still I am one. I cannot do everything, but still I can do something; And because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do something that I can do." ~ Edward Everett Hale
